Akram humorously suggested that the only way to put pressure on Bumrah and stop him from taking wickets is by stealing his bowling spikes

Legendary Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram has offered a lighthearted piece of advice on how to stop the Indian cricket star, Jasprit Bumrah, from continuing his wicket-taking streak in the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.

Bumrah, who has been a standout performer for Team India in the tournament, has garnered attention by dismissing 14 batters in the six matches he has played so far. Despite facing a challenging 11-month hiatus due to a back injury, the 29-year-old has defied expectations and become a key player in India’s World Cup campaign.

In a recent interview on a sports show in Pakistan, Wasim Akram praised Bumrah as the best bowler in the world at present. Akram highlighted Bumrah’s exceptional control, pace, and variations, describing him as a complete bowler who is a delight to watch. Akram also noted that Bumrah exhibits superior control with the new ball compared to earlier in his career.

However, in the midst of his admiration for Bumrah’s cricketing prowess, Akram humorously suggested a unique method to put pressure on the Indian seamer.

“To put pressure on Bumrah, there’s only one solution, steal his bowling spikes. There’s no other remedy,” Akram said.
