Shubman Gill hasn’t enjoyed the best form in the ICC World Cup 2023. He was hit by dengue before the first game against Australia and went on to miss a couple of matches.
He returned against Pakistan but the free flowing approach is still missing from his batting. In Gill’s recent conversation with Star Sports, he opened up on his cricketing idol and current favourite cricketer.
“Sachin sir is my cricketing idol. Virat Kohli is my current favourite player,” he said.
Virat is spending a lot of time with Shubman to make him understand the requirements in different situations. When Gill was going through a lean patch, Kohli worked on his batting.
