Australia win the toss and elect to bowl first against Bangladesh; Starc, Maxwell ruled out

Pat Cummins has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2023.

“It is a good pitch to bat on but we want to take advantage of early moisture. We will have to improve our performances against the spinners in the middle-overs,” Pat Cummins said.

Glenn Maxwell, who scored a double hundred in the previous game against Afghanistan, is not playing against Bangladesh. Mitchell Starc has been dropped as well. Steve Smith is making a comeback.

“We would have batted in any case and put runs on the board,” Najmul Hossain Shanto said.
