Rahul Dravid and Indian team
India team not happy with arrangements by West Indies Cricket Board

India will play their first game after a month-long break when they face West Indies for the first of two-Test matches on July 12 in Dominica.

However, ahead of the first game, the Indian side expressed their displeasure over the arrangements made by West Indies Cricket Board. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side have to travel almost one hour to reach the Intercontinental Hotel. The team will stay at this particular hotel for the entire first Test, and to travel one hour means the players will not get any time to recover from the day’s play which will impact their performance.

It is unlikely that the West Indies Cricket Board makes any arrangements a day before the first Test, but the poor feedback from the Indian side has raised eyebrows over West Indies hosting rights for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Test series will also mark the beginning of the next WTC cycle for both teams. India, who were the runners-up in the first two cycles, have made several changes to their squad from the one that played in the WTC final.

Young guns like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been named in the list, while their Test mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara failed to make the cut.
