A violent fight broke out between Indian fans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium

In a shocking turn of events at Arun Jaitley Stadium during the IND vs AFG match, a group of Indian fans engaged in a violent brawl, overshadowing India’s emphatic victory over Afghanistan by eight wickets in the ICC World Cup 2023 on October 11.

The clash unfolded in the stands, with a viral video capturing the disturbing scene as Indian fans exchanged punches following a heated argument. Despite the captivating cricket action on the field, the unfortunate incident has garnered attention for all the wrong reasons.

Watch here:

On the cricketing front, India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, played a pivotal role in securing the win with a record-breaking century. Chasing a target of 273, Sharma’s exceptional batting performance guided India to victory in just 35 overs.

Turning attention back to the match proceedings, Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the decision seemed questionable as Afghanistan found themselves struggling at 63/3 after 13.1 overs. In a remarkable turnaround, Shahidi (80 off 88) and Azmatullah Omarzai (62 off 69) orchestrated a massive 121-run partnership for the fourth wicket, stabilizing Afghanistan’s innings.

Despite the resilience shown by the Afghan batsmen, India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah with figures of 4/49 in ten overs and supported by Hardik Pandya’s 2/43 in seven overs, restricted Afghanistan to a total of 272/8 in 50 overs.
