Tendulkar praised Ashwin's experience and attitude, expressing admiration for his skills as both a bowler and a handy batsman.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar recently showered praise on R Ashwin, highlighting the off-spinner’s relentless fighting spirit until the final delivery of a game. Both Tendulkar and Ashwin were part of the victorious 2011 World Cup Indian squad.

Despite not being initially a key figure in India’s World Cup plans, Ashwin’s journey to the 2023 squad faced a turning point when Axar Patel suffered a quadricep tear in Colombo. This led to Ashwin’s inclusion as a replacement. His noteworthy performance in the ODI series against Australia, where he took four wickets in two games, solidified his spot.

In the opening match against Australia in Chennai, Ashwin claimed the wicket of Cameron Green, finishing with impressive figures of 34 for one in his 10 overs.

Tendulkar, speaking on his YouTube channel, praised Ashwin’s experience and unwavering determination, emphasizing his admiration for both Ashwin’s bowling prowess and his contribution as a handy batter.

“He is an experienced player who will fight to the final delivery. I am aware of that. He would always be involved in action. His attitude and method of play are outstanding. I’ve always appreciated Ashwin as a spinner and a useful batter,” Tendulkar stated.
