Afghanistan’s premier spinner, Rashid Khan, credited India for their win over Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023. He was happy with the support his team has received from the Indian fans.
Afghanistan defeated the much higher-ranked team by 8 wickets to register their second win in the tournament. After shocking England in Delhi, the minnow nation came on top over the Men in Green in Chennai.
Chasing 283, they were never in trouble as the batters played fearless cricket and didn’t allow Babar Azam’s team to dictate terms at any stage of the contest.
“I also want to thank India for the support. It gave us the energy to go for the win. The fans were behind us, and we enjoying the support we are getting in the country,” he said.
Pakistan were restricted to 282/7 in 50 overs.
