Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi was a happy man after his team won their third match of the ICC World Cup 2023. They defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Pune, with bowlers and batters contributing to the team’s cause.
Shahidi paid special tribute to the premier all-rounder Rashid Khan. “Rashid Khan is the best player in the world. He brings a lot of energy to the team and keeps the atmosphere positive. Rashid is a world class player and we are lucky to have him in the team,” he said.
Rashid played his 100th ODI game without missing any contest due to an injury or some other issues. He has been a regular contributor to the team’s success.
Afghanistan have also defeated England and Pakistan in the competition.
