IND vs PAK ICC World Cup 2023
Rohit can get to 150 ODI sixes on home soil (146).

India are set to clash against Pakistan in the mother of all battles on October 14 in match number 12 of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday. India will be aiming to maintain a perfect run against their arch-rivals in the ODI World Cup. Pakistan have lost all their seven previous ODI World Cup games against India. However, in terms of the head-to-head ODI record, the Men in Green are ahead, having won 73 games and losing 56 (NR: 5). India and Pakistan met last month in the Asia Cup, and the former claimed a massive 228-run win.

Both sides have started the 2023 World Cup on a strong note. India earned massive wins over Australia and Afghanistan. On the other hand, Pakistan beat the likes of Netherlands and Sri Lanka, scripting the most successful run-chase in World Cup history against the latter.

Ahead of the game against Pakistan, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said Shubman Gill is 99% available for the match. He is likely set to make it to the starting XI, boosting India. Gill, who won the September Player of the Month in the ICC awards, is the top scorer in 2023. He will want to return with a bang in what is his favourite venue in terms of scoring.

Ahead of the iconic clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium, here we decode the massive records on offer.

Shubman Gill can become the fastest to 2000 ODI runs

Gill has scored a mammoth 1917 runs from 35 ODIs at an average of 66.10 with the help of six tons and 19 fifties. As per ESPNcricinfo, Gill can become the fastest to 2000 ODI runs. 4th-highest scorer in World Cup history

Virat Kohli has started the 2023 World Cup on a strong note, smashing scores worth 85 and 55*. Kohli, who loves facing Pakistan, will be a crucial force to be reckoned with. Kohli could become the 4th-highest scorer in World Cup history if he surpasses these legends.

Kohli can also surpass Mahela Jayawardene regarding international runs (25957).

100 ODI scalps for Hasan Ali

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has made a commanding return to the set-up after an injury to Naseem Shah. Hasan has shown no signs of rustiness. Hasan owns 97 ODI wickets from 62 matches at 29.55. 5500 runs for Babar Azam

Babar Azam is enduring a lean spell and has gone five ODI innings without a fifty-plus score. However, when the going gets tough, expect Babar to come out trumps. He can be a massive figure for Pakistan. Babar has so far amassed 5424 runs in ODIs at 57.09. He is closing in on 5500 ODI runs. He can become just the 12th Pakistan batter to do so.

1500 runs for Rizwan on Asian soil
