S Sreesanth lashed out at Mickey Arthur

After Pakistan’s seven-wicket defeat against India in the recent World Cup clash, Sreesanth took a swipe at Mickey Arthur’s comments. He asserted that even India’s C team could easily triumph over Pakistan’s main XI.

The match, held at Narendra Modi Stadium with a crowd exceeding 100,000, witnessed India maintaining their unbeaten record against Pakistan. Outperforming their rivals in every facet of the game, the hosts secured a comprehensive victory.

Despite initially cruising at 155-2 in the 29th over, Pakistan suffered a sudden collapse. They were bowled out for 191 with over seven overs to spare. Expressing discontent over the absence of Pakistani fans in Ahmedabad, Mickey Arthur contended that the ICC Cricket World Cup seemed more like a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) event than an International Cricket Council event.

Responding to Arthur’s remarks, former Indian pacer S Sreesanth dismissed the notion that Pakistan could ever defeat India in an ICC trophy or any other event, considering the composition of their team.

“Mickey Arthur said we’ll face off in the finals. With the team they have, I don’t think Pakistan will ever defeat India in an ICC trophy match or any other competition. Even our C team can beat Pakistan’s playing XI. Even players who aren’t participating in the IPL are capable of defeating Pakistan’s team,” Sreesanth said.

“Pakistan could never hope to play in such a large stadium. We gave them a chance, but if they behave in that manner, chances like that won’t come around again,” he added.
