New Zealand slammed 401 runs while batting first against Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 match in Bengaluru. Former player Shoaib Akhtar has hit out at the management and Babar for giving batting to the Kiwis after winning the toss.
Rachin Ravindra (108) and Kane Williamson (95) were the top-scorers for the 2019 finalists. It was Ravindra’s third ton in the ongoing tournament.
“I dont understand the Pak team management & the captain NZ With half their bowling injured, why won’t you bat first on a wicket like this to do what they’re doing to you now,” Shoaib Akhtar wrote.
Shaheen Afridi bowled the most expensive spell by a Pakistan bowler in the World Cup history. He conceded 90 runs and went wicketless.
Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali also went for runs in their quota. Mohammad Wasim Jr was the must successful bowler for the Men in Green. He took three wickets, giving away 60 runs from 10 years.
If New Zealand win today’s game, Pakistan, England, Netherlands and Sri Lanka will be eliminated from the competition.
