Cheteshwar Pujara and and Josh Hazlewood
Australians love to hate Cheteshwar Pujara

Australia star bowler Josh Hazlewood who missed the India test series because of a heel injury, is with the RCB at their base camp in Bengaluru. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old will miss the tournament’s first half, as he has not recovered from his Achilles tendonitis injury.

In the latest events, Hazlewood, who recently became the number-one ranked ODI bowler, appeared on the RCB podcast. He talked about the recently concluded India series and spoke highly of Cheteshwar Pujara.

Notably, Pujara recently became the 13th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches, and despite failing to score big in the series, the 35-year-old has made a name for himself as someone who tires out bowlers with his defence. Several leading bowlers have acknowledged Pujara’s defence and remarked that getting his wicket is an achievement, and Hazlewood believes no different.

Josh remarked that the Australians love to hate Pujara and that his wicket gives bowlers a ‘thrill.’

“Bowlers get a thrill when they get Pujara’s wicket. His wicket feels that you have earned it. It is so difficult to get him out. You put in so much hard work. Whether it is the 5th or 100th ball, getting his wicket is a matter of pride.”

“I have had a few tussles with him in Australia, and we love to hate him because he is a fantastic player. It is a part of Test cricket that you feel you have earned it when you get him out.
