Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria said that the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee made the right decision to leave out Yuzvendra Chalal from the Asia Cup 2023 squad.
He pointed out that Yuzi hasn’t been consistent in recent times and doesn’t deserve to play for the country. Kaneria added that Kuldeep Yadav has been impressive and was rightly picked in the squad.
“Yuzvendra Chahal doesn’t deserve to play for India in the Asia Cup 2023. He has been inconsistent. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav has shown his class and can be impactful in the middle overs. The selectors took the right call by going ahead with Kuldeep,” he said.
Chahal’s omission has left many former cricketers baffled. They bashed the selectors for not keeping him in the team for the big tournament.
